Tender was born in Port Shepstone but grew up in a little village called KwaNositha . She completed her primary shooling in Durban whilst staying with her aunt but went back home to Gamalakhe in 1996
to start grade 6. During her high school years she was actively involved in stage plays and even joined a
gospel choir. In 1997 she won SABC 1’s Jam Alley Megastar Competition and realised that she should
persue her singing career seriously. Tender moved to Johannesburg and sang backing vocals for various artists, worked as a waitress and had success in a Gospel Star Search where she made it top the Top 5.
In 2001 she was diagnosed with HIV and decided to move back to Port Shepstone where she until recently, worked in retail for Waltons Stationary. When Idols arrived in Margate in June 2007, she jumped at the chance to enter and the rest, as they say, is history! Tender is in great demand as a motivational
speaker , she is a diva in her own right and is currently in negotiation with an international record company to release a CD with music in her favourite genres – R&B and Afro-Pop! Her favourite quote is ‘everything happens for a reason’ and she decribes herself as: “outgoing, funny, strong, been there – done that – got the t-shirt ! “

Tender is feisty and friendly, outgoing and funny and says she’s “been there, done that and got the T-Shirt!” She enjoys spending time with her ‘loved-ones’, listening to music and cooking, but hates fighting because “holding grudges is a waste of energy!” Tender would still like to record her single and party it up this year. Although, if she was given a million, the first thing she’d do is buy a nice house for her family.
