Rian Swanepoel was born in 1981 in Kempton Park, South Africa and this is also where his singing career began. He has won several national singing competitions, such as “Fantasy of Light  and “Tehila”. In 2002 he was a Top 10 finalist in Pop Idols.

Rian performed with many of South Africa’s top artists and also performed with the Transoranje School for the Deaf sign language choir for a period of 2½ years. Rian is involved with various charities in South Africa.

Rian undertook 3 very successful concert tour to Argentina (2005), South Korea (2007) and Germany (2008). Rian’s first music video was filmed in Seoul, South Korea. He has also received an invitation to perform in Japan later this year.

Rian’s latest album, “Verf die classics rooi” contains duets with Rina Hugo, Sibongile Mngoma, Kevin Leo, Veronique Lalouette and Werner Brooks. The album was nominated for a SAMA in the category, “Best Classical Crossover Album”.

Rian regularly performs and MC at corporate functions, weddings, festivals, church events and live events. He has a large vocal ability, ranging from Classic Crossover to Contemporary, Jazz-swing and Pop. He is basically able to sing any music genre with excellence.
