Soul Diva, Jennifer Jones hails from Cape Town South Africa. Her illustrious career history includes accolades few can lay claim to.  She captured a world wide television audience with her appearances in the MISS WORLD PAGEANT 1995 at the Sun City Superbowl. The same year saw her again performing to a world wide audience when she sang the theme song for the RUGBY WORLD CUP 95, ‘Where the world began’ during the opening and closing ceremonies. 

Prior to this she started from humble beginnings and appeared at  ‘Inn on the Plain’ in Mitchell’s Plain, every Saturday night for months, followed by various gigs across Europe in the early 1990’s.  She worked in Italy, Scotland, London and Rome.  Ms. Jones returned to South Africa and worked as a solo artist and later with her own band JUST RHYTHM throughout South Africa becoming known as one of Cape Town’s premier performers.

Her remarkable triumph against the odds lead to her life story being captured in JUVENIS, a 52 minute documentary shown globally as the core of the youth component of the United Nations 50th anniversary celebrations.

The world once again saw her incredible talent when she sang the constitution song ‘One Law for One Nation’ in a live global telecast from the Houses of Parliament in 1996.

Jennifer was the support act for both TINA TURNER’S 1996 World Tour and MICHAEL JACKSON’S HISTORY TOUR 1997 in South Africa. 

She became the first South African artist to be signed by Sony Music SA.  She recorded her debut album SLOW DOWN’ in 1996 and the album was released to great critical acclaim in 1997.  1997 also saw Jennifer perform OLYMPIC FEVER to a world wide television audience as part of the South African Olympic bid for 2004.  She also appeared as a presenter at the FNB SAMA Awards in the same year. 

Jennifer sang Father of the Nation, the theme song from the movie ‘Mandela, Father of the Nation’. This song garnered a Grammy Award nomination in 1999.  She was invited to perform the song at the birthday celebrations of then President Nelson Mandela in 1997.

Another high profile engagement was the prestigious BLUE TRAIN LAUNCH at the Victoria Falls in front of numerous African Heads of States to tumultuous applause.

In 1999 Jennifer won the KORA Award for “Most Promising Female Artist”.  Her television appearances in the same year included the NNTV Awards live television performance of “High Heels and Hisses”, produced by The Baroness and Felicia Mabusa Suttle’s “Live Diva’s Show” that for the first time saw Jennifer performing with her mother, Marloe Scott Wilson.  She was released from her contractual obligations from Sony in 1999. 

Jennifer appeared at the International World Aids Day “Love Life” and performed “The Future Ain’t What It Used To Be”. This performance landed her on the front page of the New York Times She appeared in the Miss SA 2000 and then left South Africa for Cairo for a 2 month contract at the Sheraton Hotel .to return in February 2001

In the short time back she appeared as the support act for Dionne Warwick at Carnival City under the name of “Diva Namix” featuring Vicky Sampson, Carol Leigh and Jennifer Jones. Jennifer Jones left for Morocco in March appearing at the Sheraton Hotel untill August.

Her corporate work credits are endless.  She has performed and worked with all major production houses, choreographers and corporate companies in South Africa. Since her return she has appeared at numerous corporate engagements across South Africa including performances for the National Olympic Committee, South African Airways, Siemens SA, BMW, ACSA to mention but a few. 

Jennifer has been selected as the celebrity judge on the reality music television show ZING on Kyk-net in March 2003 and she will be making a special appearance at Nelson Mandela’s Birthday party in July 2003.

Jennifer has been asked to perform at the Inauguration of South Africa’s New President on 27 April 2004.
