Ruda Landman

Book now

Ruda Landman started working as a newspaper journalist in 1977, moving to radio, magazines and TV news-reading before taking her place in 1985 as co-anchor of South Africa's first live actuality programme on TV, called Netwerk.  The birth of her son in December 1986 ended that connection, and Ruda Landman worked free-lance as a TV reporter until joining Carte Blanche as one of two anchors at its inception in August 1988. Ruda Landman grew up in the Northern Cape,  matriculated at Upington and went to Stellenbosch University to read languages.  Shortly after her graduation Ruda married JP Landman, now a well-known political and economic analyst.  They have one son, Johannes.  Apart from work and family Ruda Landman is a director of the media giant Media 24 and acts as chairperson of the Board of Helpmekaar, the Johannesburg private school her son attended and serves on the Council of the University of Stellenbosch.

MC’ING

Respected journalist Ruda Landman is one of the most experienced chairmen/facilitators in the country, at ease with strong panel members, energetic and lively without taking over.  She keeps the discussion focused, restrains people who may try to dominate, and makes it possible for every participant to perform at his/her best.  In her hands your panel discussion will be what you want it to be, interesting, informative, real value added to your programme.
As an MC, Ruda Landman is charming and professional.  She is willing to work with the client beforehand to understand the content and spirit of the occasion, becoming an integral part of the programme, weaving different presentations together and keeping the audience engaged.

TO DANCE AND TO FISH

In her talk entitled “To dance and to fish”, respected journalist Ruda Landman comes up with something completely unexpected.  She starts with a reading of a beautiful Nordic folk tale which time and again has the audience spell-bound.  Using the tale as a metaphor, she talks from the heart about how we all have so many possibilities inside ourselves, and how we fade and shrivel up when we do not allow those possibilities room to live and to grow.  Using her own life and her own choices as examples, she talks about the liberating power of taking responsibility for your life.  Audiences walk away uplifted and inspired.  This is a motivational talk like you have never heard before.
