Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Elana knew she wanted to be a performer when she changed her entry as a business student to a performing arts student in 1998 at the University of Stellenbosch.  “Being on stage form the first time was so competitive, I could make the theatre my home”, says this performer, radio and television presenter.  Before studying she made her first appearances as a child actor in amateur productions and played piano in a band age 15.

Since her last professional stage production in Cape Town, where she was a singer, dancer and actor, she replaced Table Mountain and the beach for the city life in Johannesburg to start her professional Television career at the end of 2000 at Mnet and DSTV.

Elana went live with a show called Jip on DSTV channel KYKNET in 2001 and started her radio career at Jacaranda 94.2 in the same year. Since she has been involved in numerous live shows, presentations for corporate companies, event consulting and the start of Eaworks, who hosted a few television projects and now looks after her account.
