Introduction
Jason Glover is an exciting new talent on the South African music scene. Glover recently released his debut album ‘West Road’, which has received extensive media coverage and radio play, and is fast gaining an increasing fan base through exposure at gigs that he has been performing in Gauteng and the Western Cape. Glover is already working on his second album, and is a talent that is fast becoming a household name in South African music.

Background
- Glover studied at the London school of music and went on to spend a further six years in the U.K. where he established himself as a successful musician.
- His first band, Aqualung, played with the likes of Bernard Purdy (drummer for Stevie Wonder & Steely Dan) who described Jason as an incredibly talented songwriter with a voice that will awaken every man’s soul”.
- Glover enjoyed frequent reviews in a number of U.K. publications. “An exciting act not to be missed – a powerful, soulful voice reminiscent of the counting crows” (London Time Out magazine).
- After extensive touring in the U.K. Glover returned to South Africa to begin the development of his debut album West Road which is available now.
Music genre
Jason’s genre is predominantly laid back Folk Rock. He is compared to the likes of David Gray and Dave Mathews. Glover’s songs are described as memorable tunes, with lyrics that ring true filled with mature life experience. His style is an easy, ear-catching sound, with an unforgettable soulful voice that leaves audiences wanting for more.
MUSIC PERFORMANCE
- Glover uses no backing tracks; his show is completely live which adds a very personal feel to each performance.
- Glover has produced, directed, and fronted a number of shows, incorporating a variety of instruments and musicians. His music retains the foundation of drums, bass and acoustic guitar fused with African rhythms in some songs, and flute, strings, electric guitar, keyboards and brass in others.
- Glover performs regularly as a solo artist and with his band. Both performances are based around Glover’s unique style and stage presence however differs in the way they come across.

Jason’s solo performance (acoustic guitar & Vocals) attract people of a relaxed intimate listening nature in an environment E.g.: a restaurant/bar/coffee shop or theatre.
Band
Glover’s band performances are very much more of a visual as well as listening show. The show combines the use of instruments such as drums, bass guitar; electric and acoustic guitars, keyboard etc. with additional use of lighting and sound.
