Paul Snodgrass

Book now

Proclaimed “one of the  best value for money acts” by a Scotsman!

Paul Snodgrass is a ball of pent up energy, released on an unsuspecting audience in a non-stop barrage of snot spilling, sidesplitting laughter that does not cease until he leaves the stage.

New on Snoddy’s Corporate Smorgasbord:
Lessons from the Sports Stars.
What’s it  like to face balls from Makhaya, or swim against Ryk, or head butt through a block of wood. Prying into the success secrets of sports stars and facing fear the Paul Snodgrass way …  nuff said.

Paul’s Comedy History
Paul “Snoddie” Snodgrass started performing Comedy some 8 years ago at the Fresh Faces section of the Smirnoff International comedy Festival. The rest is history.
He performed at the Edinburgh Festival in 2006, the largest arts festival in the world, and achieved a 4 star, and review in the Guardian "Headliner, Paul Snodgrass … one of the best value for money acts at the festival."
He was a founder member of the Cape Comedy Collective.
He was a resident host and comic at the Comedy Warehouse in Greenpoint.
He was a founder member of Comedyallstars in Cape Town
He’s a regular on Joburg and Durban comedy events and tours around the country.
He has  performed and hosted festivals such as the Vodacom Funny Fest and The Old Mutual Fest in Cape Town, the "HA HA" Festival and the “Up ‘n under Festival” in Durban, the Greenspicer Varsity Tour and The Play 'n Ice Festival in Grahamstown.

Television and Video
Paul has a sports journalist background and has been a reporter and a producer for eTV sports news for 5 years, and was the side-kick on eTV’s “That Sport Show” for 3 years. As the funny sports guy, he faced bouncers from Makhaya Ntini, learned how to head butt through a block of wood and raced against Ryk Neethling (despite Paul’s flippers, Ryk won).

His in-depth knowledge of sport, coupled with his profile as a sports producer and television host, makes him the perfect MC for sporting events, golf days or any other sports related function.

His TV and video comedy achievements include  SABC3's "Comedy Showcase", ETV's "Dead time” and SABC1's "Take five," eTV's "Citylife” and Jo Parker’s “Comedy Express” video.

Radio
“Snoddie” is the resident sport anchor and side-kick to host Lee Downs on Heart FM’s morning drive show, the 2nd highest rated morning radio show in Cape Town. Paul is also the FIXER on the show: Once a week he is tasked with making a listener’s day, from
getting a chef to pack a gourmet lunch, to getting an acapella singing group to sing “My Girl” to a nurse, no issue is too small.

Magazine
Paul is the “Extreme Golfer” in the new irreverent golf magazine “Golf Punk”, in which he takes on  crazy projects, like putting golf balls underwater with sharks, playing golf out of a helicopter and hitting chips out the crocodile enclosure at Sun City.

Passion for Rock
Paul has worked for almost every major rock fest in SA bringing on bands from all over the world. His MC accomplishments include:

    • Three years as MC at “Rocking the Daisies.”
    • Four years MC at “Up the Creek.”
    • MC on the main stage at “Toast Fest” in London, which featured, among others, Arno Carstens, “Freshlyground”, “Just Jinger”, and “JacSharp”.
    • MC of choice to “The Dirty Skirts”,  “Fokofpolisiekar”, “Hog Hoggidy Hog”, “The Rudimentals”, “Goldfish”, “Plush”, “JacSharp”,“Andy Lund and the Mission Men” and “The Shy Guevaras”
