Deep Fried Man
Musical comedian Deep Fried Man was dropped on his head several times as a young child, and this has had a profound effect on his songwriting style. He began his career as a serious musician, before realising that the audience was laughing at him, after which he decided that he might as well try to make them laugh on purpose. Since then, he has been rocking comedy gigs all around Jozi.
He was declared joint winner of the 2010 Parkers Comedy Showdown, which led to a performance at the UN Comedy Show with Pablo Francisco and many other top local and international comedians. Since then things have been busy. Recently, Deep Fried Man has performed a full-length, once-off one man show for the Wits Drama for Life festival, opened for Trevor Noah in 'Scratch That' at the Joburg Theatre Fringe and played the Heavyweight Comedy Jam, the Tshwane Comedy Fest and UJ's One Night Stand to name a few. Deep Fried Man has been compared with the likes of Flight of the Conchords, Bill Bailey, Weird 'Al' Yankovic and Tim Minchin. His listeners must be warned that the music of Deep Fried Man may cause you to LOL, ROFL, or in extreme cases even LMAO.
