BIOGRAPHY
Since their move to Johannesburg in 2006, White Rabbit quickly earned the reputation as one of Joburg’s hottest cover bands, their ability to draw a crowd and the impressive, and often unprecedented, turnovers on their performance nights, ensured that they had a very busy and successful year.
A hot favourite for corporates and clubs alike, the vast repertoire and combination of a male and female vocalist makes them extremely versatile and able to adapt for any audience or event, the musicianship is of the highest standard and their repertoire encompasses everything from 60’s crowd-pleasers to the latest hits. Add to this a very mellow acoustic/unplugged set that, when requested, compliments their party sets beautifully. The unplugged set has proved to be a hot favourite at the many corporate events that the band has performed at and the list of blue chip clients that have booked them for their corporate events is too long to mention but includes Rand Merchant Bank, Harley Davidson, Waltons, Jack Daniels, Fidentia, SAB and Shisha.Com etc.
Despite their phenomenal success, the young members of White Rabbit have remained humble and deeply appreciate the awesome compliments they have received from some of South Africa’s most prestigious live music venues. Sun City (Sun International) rates them as one of the best bands that has played at Trader Horn’s Night Club. The Management of Quay Four at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront were completely blown away when they heard White Rabbit and the band is invited to perform their whenever they are in town and so it goes on.
Each of the 4 band members are drawn from the cream of the country’s musical talent. They are all passionate about music, the band and, perhaps most importantly, there is chemistry between the group on stage that is felt by the audience, guaranteeing a party every time.
Their front man Johan was one of the 6 finalists in Project Fame Africa, resulting in him being a household name to many, thanks to his frequent appearances on television throughout the continent.
Blond bombshell Illana is White Rabbit’s female vocalist. Her vocal talent and supermodel looks complement the rest of the line-up which features lead and rhythm guitar, bass and drums.
White Rabbit sets an extremely high standard for themselves in terms of every aspect of their performance. Although the name of the game they’re in is about creating fun, fun, fun, they are serious about actualizing the long-term vision of the band and maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
The impact White Rabbit has made on the music scene has gone from strength to strength and with their star quality and dedication, the sky’s the limit.
