So Real, is the group’s long anticipated second album. The new album takes off where Changing Face last left off with their hits Everything Changes featuring Lindsay McGuire and Forever & Ever Young featuring Mark Beling (off their debut album, Blind Fold).
The group is known for their polished and energetic songs, but they have outdone themselves with So Real – creating a more commercial rock masterpiece that will unquestionably set the band on a higher standard. The album was recorded by well known musician and producer, Mark Beling and was self penned by the group’s front man – the enigmatic, Lloyd Peltier – who is accompanied by the talents of Hendru Basson (bass & backing vocals), Sam Moka (drums) and Ugo Moka (percussion & backing vocals).
The 13 track album is strong, stirring and unforgettable with a unique and refreshing element. Fans, old and new, will immediately appreciate the diversity of tracks from the more uptempo rock tracks of Alright, Completely Insane and Maybe Maybe to the untimely tracks So Real and Butterflies. The album showcases the group’s remarkable talent. Together, they create an incredible up-tempo rhythm, giving Lloyd free reign to deliver smooth, vocal work. The album also sees Changing Face testing the waters with their first Afrikaans single, As Die Son Sak, which even before the release of the album, grabbed the attention of various music compilers and was playlisted on several radio stations. The song is a tribute to South Africa and features the mesmerizing voices of hit theatre production, AFRICA UMOJA.
So Real is set to ignite a new wave of hysteria amongst music lovers around South Africa, with an extensive tour currently being planned and the new singles Alright and Butterflies already receiving extensive airplay.
The legacy of Changing Face lies deep in the heart of the Vaal Triangle. Formally known as ‘Lloyd’, a one man acoustic band, singer and song writer - it became eminent that a solo setup could no longer meet the needs of the growing appetite of the industry. Getting together a band was the next sensible move toward achieving this goal and to fully embrace the music industry and in 2006, Changing Face was created.
The key to this band is a combination of confidence, hard work and talent.
Changing Face is definitely one of this country’s finest rock bands to hit the music scene.
