Nianell reaches higher
There is a star that shines brightly on the South African musical scene: Nianell the acclaimed singer. This star has shown the ability to create the most beautiful melodies and combine it with inspirational words. Along with that, she is also an outstanding performer on stage and this combination sets Nianell in a league of her own.
Her voice has been described as exciting. She sings comfortably between four octaves and produces an exquisite sound varying between bittersweet, delicate and magical, sometimes becoming forceful and strong.
After the birth of her triplets which Nianell considers as a personal highlight, she immediately started to work hard to get her career back on track. In 2008 her fourth CD, I know I’m lucky was released. This CD even included five Afrikaans songs.
Nianell takes great pride in the success that the New Zealand singer, Haley Westerna had with her song, Who painted the moon, but that was just the first of a series of highlights for Nianell. In 2005 her CD Angel Tongue received two SAMA awards. At the beginning of 2006 she won the Global Song Writing contest with her song, We’ll find a way. The song Isn’t it reached the number two position on an Adult Contemporary Music radio station in America. Various other songs of Nianell were also included in the play list of this radio station.
In 2007, the birth year of the triplets, Nianell recorded a DVD, As one, with a full orchestra. Her first three albums, Who painted the moon, Angel Tongue and Life’s Gift all made platinum status and at present I know I’m lucky and the DVD, As One, have made gold status so far.
Another fantastic achievement was when she signed a contract with a record company to release a compilation album in Singapore and Indonesia with her greatest hits. Her international career has definitely been launched with a bang.
Nianell still dreams big about her future. At present she is rather busy being a mother of three toddlers and balancing a busy career at the same time, but she already has plans to release a new CD at the end of 2009. This time she hopes to record some music of other song writers. Songs that spread a message that she also believes in.
She would really like to make the world a better place to live in, and the message that she constantly sends out is that love is the only thing that will make a difference. You have to love God, yourself and fellow human beings.
“We are all able to make a difference. When you send out positive energy and love to other people, even the ones that did you wrong, you will help to make this world a better place.
“I have one big goal in my life: I want to live my life in such a way, that God’s Light can shine right through me,” says this talented performer.
