My Yesterday
Kevin was born on 18 August 1971 in Rusteburg , South Africa.He grew up in this lovely town that is situated between beautiful mountains (Rustenburg means “resting at the foot of the montains”,showing a great talent for singing since he could speak.
From as early as second grade in Primary School Kevin performed in lead roles in school plays and received numerous Gold and A++ awards in National Singing Competitions. In Secondary school he continued competing in competition with enormous success and even receiving a bursary for acting in grade ten.
During his military service he sang in the gospel-singing ensemble of the Defence Force, touring the whole of South Africa.
During his Theological studies at the University of Pretoria he took part in numerous singing competitions with great success.
In 1995 /96 he started his professional singing career and in 1997 he created the very popular ensemble –concept “Three of the Best in which he included himself and two singer friends Danie Niehaus and Mathys Roets.
Kevin has received vocal training from Ina Snyman and is under current training of Dr Emma Renzil and received fourth position in the very well known International Opera Competition of Italy. “Valsesia Musica”near Milan.
My Today
Kevin is busy recording an album titled “Kevin Leo and the Voices “ which will be released in September 2007 during the Cultivaria festival in the Paarl. (Kevin was the name giver of this festival).
The up;oftment initiative “Kevin Leo and the voices “was created by himself in the run of 2006 when Kevin realised the magic that was created on stage using young highly talented amateur singers, that would not usually have the chance to perform on stage Kevin is currently using a group of young singers in Gauteng that call themselves” Bella Voce” and his aim is to train a group of ten singers in every Province that he will incorporate in his performances in the carious Provinces.
My Tomorrow
Kevin is planning a tour in Europe and in South Africa with the “Kevin Leo and the Voices concept.
